Scratching 26th March 2009
This week, bloggers were introduced to programming! We used a simple application called Scratch (developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to build a simple program that animated our cartoon cat. You can see the results below, click the green flag to replay.

Fireman talk   12-3-09

On Wednesday there was a Fireman who came in to school. The fireman told us all about the danger of fire and how we should'nt touch it. He told us all about how to make an escape plan. He also told us to get down under the smoke when there is a fire. At the end he gave us stickers with a fireman on it.

Book Week Assembly - Dressing as book characters

This week has been book week, and Thursday was World Book Day . Throughout the week our pupils have had a variety of vistors coming to their classrooms to share books. Every evening we have had a book fair in the school hall where the children were able to bring along a special voucher for a discount on buying a new book from a huge selection. The school will get a small commission from the book sales, we'll let you know how we did.

The high point of the week was without a doubt Friday, when all the pupils and staff dressed as their favourite book character, with the theme being Heroes and Heroines! There were some fantastic costumes on show, from Mary Poppins to Prince Charming, Lyra Belaqua to Gobbolino the Witches Cat, Peter, Susan, Lucy and Aslan from the Narnia books, several Transformers, Pippi Longstocking, Robin Hood & Maid Marian, The Cat in the Hat and many many others!

We hope you'll enjoy looking at these pictures of the special assembly where all the pupils got to parade their costumes. A big thank you to all the parents and carers who clearly put an lot of work into making the children step out of the pages of their favourite books.
