The French Team 10/06/10

The World Cup is coming up and in Bloggers we have decided to write about a team of our choice. (Except from England!) I chose France. France was one of the four European teams that participated at the inaugural World Cup in 1930 and are one of seven national teams to have won the competition, which they did in 1998 when they hosted the Cup. They defeated Brazil 3–0 in the final. France and England share the record of having one World Cup victory. Raymond Domenech is the manager of the French football team. France have only won the World Cup once in 1998. France have played in the World Cup 12 times.
The capital of France is Paris. The Prime Minister is François Fillon and the President is Nicolas Sarkozy. The language spoken in France is French. Roughly 66,000,000 people live in France, they are not all French, but they all live in there.

18/05/10 My Favourite Things This Term
This term I've enjoyed a lot of things including 'Art Week' and the trip to 'Riverside Country Park'. Art week was during SATs week and most of us have now finished our art work and our evaluation. The trip to Riverside Country Park was a school trip for the WHOLE school! We had an amazing time especially as it was a very sunny and warm day. We had a healthy day, as we were running around and we even did orienteering. We also had along trip to the adventure playground, which has now been re-built! I loved playing in the park, the orienteering activity and rolling down the hill. The coach trip was very exciting because evryone was happy and laughing. If one person started laughing, the whole coach would burst into laughter! The map shows a SMALL part of where we walked on Tuesday 16th May!

SATs And Art Week

During the week following the 10/05/10 Yr6 had an art week and had their very impotant SATs. They had to sit in the hall in register order and work their very best and very quickest.

Photo #1In Yr6, we had to do our SATs in the school hall as they are very important for Yr6 and we couldn't get distracted by anything. We sat in register order and in silence.
Photo #2In art, Yr6 were sewing. We had to make a  20cm x 20cm piece of sewing art work about health. Though we had to have a picture of us or ourselves. I found art really fun as art is my favourite subject.
6th May: A School Election!
See full size image See full size image
On Thursday 6th May KS2 (Yrs 3, 4, 5 and 6.) had their own election to find out which Prime Minster we preffered. The class teacher read out the information from: David Cameron, Gordon Brown and Nick Clegg but, they only read out the information that is important to us. For example: School, education, SATS etc. I think everybody really enjoyed but they were so excited about it, that everyone told their friends who they voted for! It was quite interesting to know what people thought of different information. It was also quite fun to learn about the 'Liberal Democrat Party', the 'Labour Party' and the Conservative Party'. The 'Liberal Democrat Party' won for Yr6. (Butterfly Class.)
