School Times
| Session | Times |
|---|---|
| Morning | 8:50am - 12:00pm |
| Playtime | 10:15am - 10:30pm |
| Lunchtime | 12:00pm - 1:00pm |
| Afternoon | 1:00pm - 3:15pm |
Infant (KS1) pupils have an afternoon break when the teacher reaches an appropriate natural time and structured activities are available.
Children should arrive no earlier than 8:40am and should enter the school through the link doors. Both the Harrison Drive and The Street gates are opened. We request that parents do not park in the staff car park. Parents should collect their child promptly at 3:15pm. All pupils leave through the link doors and The Street gate is the only one opened. Should your child be collected by anyone other than you, your written permission is needed to authorise staff to allow the child to leave with them. However, in an emergency a phone call to the school office will ensure the Class Teacher knows the adult to release your child to.
School Dinners
Children can make a choice regarding lunchtime, to have a school meal, bring a packed lunch, or go home for lunch. School meals are all cooked on the premises by an external catering provider. At present the cost of a school meal is £2.05 per day, and the money should be sent to school, at the beginning of each week, in a marked envelope so that it does not become lost. Cheques for dinner money should be made payable to Chartwells. The caterers require at least a terms notice for starting or stopping school meals. Parents of children entitled to free school meals should make an application to the Area Education Officer (the form is available from school). Children who go home for dinners should not return until 1.00pm.
School Uniforms
A school uniform of red and grey is worn throughout the school. A red sweatshirt or cardigan with the school logo is available from the PTA via the school office. A red cardigan without the school logo is also acceptable. Grey fleeces are also available. For PE, all children should have plimsolls, a white sports shirt and red or black shorts.
Medway Council and High Halstow Primary School does not accept responsiblity for loss or damage to the personal property of pupils, and parents are requested to ensure that all property brought to school is marked, including uniform and PE items.
Children should not wear jewellery (including watches) to school and if ears are pierced then only one pair of studs is suitable to be worn in school.
